Mountains are gorgeous aren’t they?
Growing up in Northern Utah, surrounded by the Rockies and the Wasatch Front which were constantly snow capped I never truly appreciated them.
We used the mountains more so for directions; “head towards the mountains and then turn left” is usually how it went.
I don’t care for snow, therefore I never went skiing or snowboarding. But, we’d often take a drive up the canyon to unwind or go camping for the weekend throughout the summer.
But, I never truly appreciated the Mountains and their beauty.
Then I moved away, to a tropical island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (Okinawa) and the largest “mountain” we had was more so a hill.
I missed looking up at the enormous amounts of earth touching the sky.
I missed the drives up and over or through them.
I missed the Mountains.
I missed them for 7 years.
Then we moved to Tucson Arizona, and we had mountains! Kinda.
They are in no-way a comparison to Utah’s Mountains, but they are enormous amounts of earth sometimes touching the sky.

Maternity on the Mountain

When Betsy told me she was expecting again I beamed at the thought of heading up the mountain for a breathtaking session!
Selfishly I needed that mountain experience, however it was also fitting since her first maternity session was at the beach!
Mount Lemmon was nothing short of magnificent! It was just the dose of adventure I longed for!
It really brought this moment into perspective with the climb, the view, the feeding of the soul – very much like pregnancy, birth, and the new adventure of raising the tiny little human you just grew inside of you like a rock-star!
