“Everyone you meet always asks if you have a career, are married or own a house as if life was some kind of grocery list. But no one ever asks you if you are happy.”
— Heath Ledger
I have kids.
I have love from my family.
I have an education.
I have a passion.
I have a business.
I have my health.
I was married.
I had a house.
And guess what?
I wasn’t happy.
I searched for it.
I looked high and low.
I looked coast to coast.
I even begged for it.
I never found it.
Happy found me.
But it only found me when I stopped looking for it.
Only after I made peace with my unhappiness.
So, no you don’t need a grocery list of a life to be happy.
“When I was 5 my mother always told me happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up. I wrote down “happy”. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
— John Lennon
